For nearly four decades, Parkside has blossomed into a beloved, successful, local family-oriented restaurant. We have prided ourselves on being community based, and have been focused on serving high quality, homemade food. Our consistency and unique qualities have kept our customers coming back since the doors first opened in 1978.
Parkside first opened its doors to what was, at the time, a small 20x20 foot building. Though the menu was much smaller then, Parkside's famous Mexican hots, hamburgers, hot dogs, homemade soups, ice cream & sundaes quickly caught the eye of the local community, forming a customer base that has returned year after year.
Since that time, both the menu and the building have expanded gradually. In 1985, an indoor dining room was added, along with some of the locals' favorite menu items. As our business grew, so did our space, and a second dining room constructed was in 2000.
Five years later, in 2005, a picturesque outdoor dining pergola overlooking Sailors' Park was added. This was also the year Parkside's second-generation came into the business. It has been our goal to bring the restuarant into a new era, carefully crafting specialty menu items, homemade sauces and dressings, and new homemade ice cream flavors.
We are committed to offering you the best tasting food made with the freshest ingredients. Ninety percent of Parkside's food is made from scratch, like our house roasted pulled pork and braised beef brisket. In addition to regular menu items, there are also daily specials. All of our hard ice cream is homemade, and we have taken the opportunity to add numerous signiture flavors including cannoli, cinnamon bun, coconut cream pie, Nutella chip, and a slightly spicy Mexican hot chocolate.
We are humbled to have the opportunity to expand and improve the already great business that our parents began. We are endlessly thankful to those that have supported Parkside through the years. We are very grateful to the community and all our customers, whether regulars or first time visitors. Without everyone's support, we would not have been able to do what we love for almost 40 years!
