The annual opening of Parkside Drive-In is a sure sign that spring is on the way!

This family owned and operated seasonal restaurant opened for business in 1978 in a small 20' x 20' building, serving their trademark Mexican Hots, Hamburgers, gourmet Hot Dogs, homemade soups and their famous soft ice cream cones and sundaes. Originally, customers ordered at two front windows and enjoyed their meals in their cars or outdoor picnic tables. This was one of the Valley's original Drive-In restaurants, lacking only roller-skating car-hops!

During the ensuing 29 years both the building and the menu were expanded to suit the ever growing business. Spacious indoor dining was added in 1985 with a second dining room added in 2000, allowing customers to relax and comfortably enjoy meals in beautifully decorated, air-conditioned surroundings. In 2005, an outdoor pergola was built for those that preferred to enjoy their food on sunny days overlooking the beautiful Village Park , located directly next door.

The original menu has grown extensively and while all of the old favorites can still be found, diners can also enjoy the “big city” deli items ranging from Angus Beef Burgers, Wraps and Panini Sandwiches to NY Strip Steaks and Gourmet Salads, including Parkside's Signature Salad, which features mixed greens, dried cranberries, candied almonds, crisp red grapes and crumbly blue cheese, served with their homemade Champagne Vinaigrette dressing.

Along with the original soft ice cream and specialty sundaes, the dessert menu includes soft yogurt, gourmet hard ice cream (made fresh on the premises!), along with personalized ice cream cakes, which can be ordered for any occasion. Beverages range from gourmet coffees, chai tea and smoothies to old-fashioned ice cream sodas and shakes.

Reggie and Tony Manikas, the original owners and operators, welcomed their son and daughter-in-law,, to the business in 2006. Aaron and Samantha's expertise in the restaurant business, along with Aaron's innate love of creating delicious gourmet meals, have really expanded this family business to give this comfortable small town restaurant some big city flavor!
